What is Filter Coffee?
South Indian filter coffee (often called Kaapi) is a traditional coffee made by brewing finely ground coffee powder in a metal filter and mixing the strong decoction with hot milk and sugar.

How It’s Made
- Add coffee powder to the upper chamber of a coffee filter.
- Pour hot water over the powder.
- Allow the decoction to drip into the lower chamber.
- Mix the decoction with hot milk and sugar.
- Serve in a traditional stainless-steel tumbler and davara.
